This is what happens...

...when Brandon feeds Alexa.

Alexa pretty much hates all green veggies..and she spits them out and maks a huge mess. So it's not ALL Brandon's fault when I come over and see a green mess on my sweet pea's face last night.

(Excuse the fact that her hair is not done and its dinner time...Brandon swears her hair is thinning out because I do it everyday...so to satisfy his worries...she went "hair acessory-less" for two days. (This being done by someone who has an "emergency hair kit" in my diaper bag if we have a hair do malfunction or outfit change..I am ready!) I gave in and did it today. Her box of hair things looked lonely and was calling out to me..what could a girl do?)

A New Do for the Family Room

We got new couches a few weeks ago and I love them! I also decided to become "domesticated" and my mother in law taught me how to sew pillows! They are awesome because they are slipcovers over a pillow form..so when Alexa spits up on them or Chayse smears yogurt on them, I can slip them off and put them in the wash! I still want to make a couple more decorative pillows..but here are the ones I finished!

Farewell to The Hurst Family!

On Sunday we had a BBQ for our friends, The Hursts, because they are leaving us and moving to Boise. Sheesh, another friend lost to Boise! :) I will really miss Linsday because she is such a sweetheart and she was so quick to welcome me as a friend when I started going back to church! She is so fun to hang around and we definitely had some good times in our short time of hanging out together in Logan! Luckily she will be living right by my grandparents, so I will get to see her when we go to Boise! Here are a few pics from the BBQ!This is their little sweetie, Jules! She was downing the punch and couldn't get enough!

Lindsay, Brienne, Me, Jacque and Jenny! Love these girls!

We will miss you guys! Good luck in Boise!

Just Hangin Out!

Yesterday we just hung out at home all day. If I am out and about..I spend money..I had been out and about a few times this week..so for the sake of my bank account and my husband's sanity..we stayed home...away from the stores...(well I guess I have the internet..and I guess I probably ordered something..but in my defense..its birthday month in a couple weeks and I have lots of shopping to do!) ANYWAY - back on topic..off the tangent... We were running out of things to do...we were all sick...my eye killed...and all I wanted to do was go to a day spa and get a nice massage and sleep for 12 hours. Then I look over and see this...
I looked over and they were watching Caillou together and being so good and quiet. It just instantly calmed me and made me realize I wouldn't want to be any other place than right here with my little sweeties! I Love being a mom!
~*~

Chayse really wanted to wear his Halloween costume..though I have no idea why..its August and hot. Oh well, I let him put it on. He wanted me to take pictures of him..so I snapped a couple of my courageous lion!

Alexa has her first TWO teeth!

So the long awaited teeth have finally arrived! Chayse got his first tooth at almost 4 months and had a full head of teeth by his first birthday. So I kept thinking Alexa may get hers early too. Well yesterday morning I saw that one had broke through and I was so excited! She was pretty fussy throughout the day and into the evening. She wouldnt go to sleep and when she finally did (after 11) she woke up off and on all night long! We were tired and cranky..but in the morning realized it was because her second bottom front tooth popped through as well! Besides a runny nose and an insane diaper explosion, she is doing much better today and though she is fussy..its not as bad and more bearable! There isnt enough to get a picture, so I took some pictures of her in her cute robe. Chayse was sleeping so it was fun to hang out with her one on one today for a little bit!

(Please excuse how I look..I have no excuse other than I'm a mom and after a long day of cooking, being a mommy, some cleaning, laying down with the kids and all that...I can look a tad ragged by the end of the day haha!)

My baby is 6 months!

Well I decided to take a break from my hiatus from blogging because I will get too behind if I dont! My little sweet pea turned 6 months on the 7th and I am just amazed at how far she has come from being that tiny little newborn I brought home, to a bouncy, happy, smiley, chubby little girl! I love her dearly and love that she is such a good baby. She has been a little more fussy and clingy the last few weeks but I think its a mixture of teething and just needing her mommy. She has been rolling over and sitting up for about a month now, but now she is officialy mobile! She rolls her way across the room! Yesterday, she mastered going from sitting up to her tummy without smashing her face into the ground. She really enjoys hanging out with her brother and lately she has really played and interacted with what he was playing with. I love seeing them together! I am having more fun than ever, buying more bows, headbands and other accessories than I probably should..but I love it! Her hair is getting a lot lighter and is growing lots! Here are some pics I just took of her and Chayse!

Come on now..

It's been 5 days and I have only read 200 pages! What the heck! I should be done by now..I would like to be done by now. I guess having a 3 yr old (almost) who would rather me play than read and a clingy 6 month old who wants to read with me..but tries to eat the pages....just doesn't allow me the time, like I had while reading the others...oh well.

Goodbye Blog

Dear Blog,
I just wanted you to know that I will be ignoring you for a few days. It's nothing personal, I just have to indulge myself and my full attention to "Breaking Dawn". My turn in line came, and the book is now in my possesion. I doubt I will be gone long, so no need to fret. My posts afterwards will most likely be about how my husband left me in search of a woman who doesn't know or daydream about this Edward character (good luck...) and how my kids will not have been bathed or fed in the last few days.
Sincerely,
Your faithful writer

Disclaimer: No need to report me. My children will be fed and bathed, though I can't say the same for Brandon. He is on his own!

Girls Night Out!

Last night, I had a girl's night with a couple of my awesome friends from my ward, Jenny and Lindsay! (We missed you Jacque!). Anyway, we had a yummy dinner at The Olive Garden. You can't go wrong there. Then we went and walked around the mall and were totally unsupportive of each other's claims as we walked into the mall. " I can't buy anything! " Lindsay is the only one who succeeded! :) Then we had this crazy and immature idea to go try on nasty, ugly prom dresses and take pictures for laughs. Ya...we didn't take pictures...we all could barely look at eachother, let alone show all you out there in the blogging world. The dresses were pretty ugly! Haha! Then we headed over to this darling little coffee shop called Citrus and Sage. I haven't ever been there, but I loved the atmosphere and the feeling I had to just curl up with my milk steamer and chat...(in the dead of summer..right). Anyway, they booted us at closing time and we decided our night wasn't over and we chatted in my car for quite sometime about life, love, marriage and anything else our husband's would have fallen asleep to 5 minutes into the conversation..had we attempted it with them! ( Just kidding guys..we all know you are great listeners are very in tune with our every thought! Haha!) We stayed out pretty late...10:15! Holy cow time changes haha! Our husbands were sweet and knew we needed it, especially since Lindsay is moving! :(

Thanks for such a fab time ladies! Can't wait to do it again! xoxo

How did she get in there?

Alexa was asleep in her crib upstairs, so I was using my handy dandy video monitor to keep an eye and ear out for her! (Love it!) Anyway, Chayse was looking around, saying " Where is Alexa?" She fussed for just a few seconds and he looked over at the video monitor, flipped it open and looked up at with me a look of total confusion, looks back down and says, "Alexa how did you get in there?" Then he looks at me and says "Mom let's get her out of there!" It was so cute and I just busted up laughing. It reminded me of when I was really little (probably one of my earliest memories), and I was watching Mr Rogers and I kept climbing back behind the TV trying to get in the TV to be with him. I thought he was just a little man who lived in the TV box. How sad I was to find out that my endeavors of getting my mini Mr Roger's out of the TV, to put in my pocket and tote around..was all a waste.

Remember him in your prayers...

Scott and Chrissy Lee, some good friends of Kimber and her husband's, had a horrible accident with their little one year old boy, Lakai. Im hearing this through another person, so Im not for sure on the exact details. I know they were moving into their new house, and Lakai, somehow got into some hot water and burned his legs very badly, to the point that he had to be Life Flighted to the burn unit at Primary Childrens in SLC. Though I have only met him once, I hear what a cute and fun little guy he is from my sister. As a mom, it breaks my heart to think of what they are going through and what they must be feeling right now. My prayers are with Scott and Chrissy and Lakai, and I ask that you all please remember them in your prayers.

Where do you get Alexa's cute bows?

Ever since I found out that I was having a girl, I have been on a mission to find the best headbands and bows for my little Alexa. I get asked often where I get them, and so I will let you all in on my favorite findings!

http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5166280
(She is fabulous and makes these by hand. How she has time, with raising two cute kids and a husband in med school, is beyond me! She will put the best non-slip material on them for free, so the bows wont slip out of your baby's hair! I am totally stoked about her chic/modern ribbon designs and will continue to buy from her for as long as Alexa has hair and will let me do it! :) We were in the same ward growing up, so I know her personally and she is great to work with!)

http://www.babytrendz.com/
(This is my friend's sister's website and she does a great job! She has darling bracelets and all sorts of bows/headbands to choose from! I instantly fell in love with her things, that she makes by hand, at a craft show back in November! If you need custom bows to match your little darling's outfits..she would be happy to make them to fit your needs!)

http://cgi.ebay.com/Hugh-Lot-of-10-Infant-Nylon-Headbands-with-a-Free-Bow_W0QQitemZ160267681737QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item160267681737&_trkparms=72%3A552%7C39%3A1%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14.l1318
( I have a ton of these because they are soft on Alexa's head, they stretch and will last a long time, and they have the little ribbon in the middle to interchange different bows! They are a baby girl MUST have! I haven't actually bought from the particular seller on ebay, but the one I usually buy from doesn't have anything for sale right now!)
