An Update on Ankley and her Family.

For those of you who don't know about Ankley, go here and you can get all caught up with the rest of us cool folk who know of her.
(This is all from the mouth of my little Chayse who brought us up to date with Ankley and her family at dinner tonight.)
"Dern had her baby last week. He is 30 years old and doing good. Now Dern is going to have another baby. She wants lots and lots and lots."
"Ankley's father is in surgery right now. He was drinking some ice water and the ice fell on him. So he has to get it removed."
"Ankley is also in surgery to make her legs work now. She looks like a total nerd but I love her like that."
~*~
Chayse: I came up with Ankley's name and I think I did a pretty good job. Mommy why did you name Alexa that?
Me: I really liked the name and wanted to name my little girl that. Don't you like her name?
Chayse: Well maybe you shouldn't have named her that. I think Fiona would have been better.
(The funny thing is, that at 2 yrs old Chayse was pretty adimant about naming the baby Fiona if it was a girl and Shrek if it was a boy. I guess he is still stickin to his guns!)
P.S. Alexa says her name now and its so cute. It sounds like Lexshu..but so cute!

Darling Diaper Bags

My sister's friend has a company that makes the cutest diaper bags! I have wanted to get one, but never had the extra money! I would totally love to get one here because they are for a fabulous price...but Brandon would most likely kill me! I have a lot of diaper bags! (Not to mention the large fabulous Coach purse my mom got me for my early bday present, that doubles as my current diaper bag! I was telling my sister in law, "You know you are a mom when you have cars in your Coach purse!" Haha!)

A Big Bump for my Little Boy!

We were at Brandon's parent's house last night, hangin out on the back patio. Chayse was going to show Travis some of his UFC fighting moves when he trippd over a stool and face planted it into the cement. I didn't see exactly how he fell, but I heard the thud and my heart dropped and my stomach turned. Instantly he had a HUGE goose egg on his head and his knees were banged up and swollen. We immediately got ice on it and didn't get to take these pictures til about 4 hours later, so it was bigger than shown here. It was so sad, but he was a brave boy!

A Visit to the Dentist

Chayse had a dentist appointment a couple of weeks ago. I was dreading it! Every time I take him, he screams bloody murder. He has this look of terror in his eyes and he just starts shaking so bad! All they have ever been able to do is brush on flouride and the dentist bravely looks in his mouth..though I warn him..it's at his own risk. Things may be bit off.

But alas, my little boy made me proud! He was such a brave big boy and LOVED going to the dentist this time! He got a titch nervous when the dentist started to look in his mouth, but other than that he was golden. He got to watch "Cars" while his teeth were being cleaned and he loved it! I was suprised at how well he sat through the x-rays! When I was working at Dr Lyman's..I sometimes dreaded cleaning little kid's teeth because they hated those dang xray holders and it was hard to get a good picture!
Hopefully Alexa will do just as well when I take her in! Good job buddy! We are proud of you!

Family Pictures

Last Sunday we had a Welcome Home party for my sister in law, Stacy and her boyfriend Jamie. Stacy was a nanny back east where she met Jamie and he needed a change of pace and some new scenery, so he moved back with her. We all really like him! Anyway, we decided that since we had everyone together, it would be a fabulous time to do our family pictures! This is the first one since we have been married, that wasn't thrown together real quick on the side of a house or a wall in the church. Jamie helped with the ones I couldn't take and did a great job! Here are my favs!

(We are getting our little family pictures coming up here sometime this summer, so I will post those when we get them!)

I did it all for the binkie...

Alexa loves her binky...a lot. Probably too much. I sometimes wonder if thats why she isn't talking as much because she has that dang thing plugging her talker. So the other day I took her binkie away because I am trying to only let her have it at naptime and bed time. (Easier said than done folks!) She had a complete and utter meltdown and I figured I would document this for future blackmail. She looks pretty stinkin cute..so I guess it's not blackmail material.

(Mind you..this lasted about 1/2 an hour..and lots more pictures were taken..but I will spare you!)

Life was good once her binkie was returned.

I'm a sucker for those baby blues....

4th of July Festivities

On Friday we went to Syracuse to hangout with Brandon's brother, Justin and his family. The kids played outside in the kiddie pool and loved it! Alexa is still working on the getting wet part..but she sure can rock her little bikini! :) I didn't take any pictures of them in the pool dang it! (I do have some I need to post from our Father's Day BBQ when they were playing in the pool.) We had a yummy BBQ and of course LaDonna had to bring her yummy treats that you can't stop at just one! The guys took Chayse, Kai and Taylor on a long bike ride will Jenny, LaDonna, Alexa and I hit up Target and Tai Pan. Love those places! Luckily we got to Tai Pan right before it closed...so we didn't have too much time to look around..which saved us from empyting our bank accounts haha. After we got back, Justin lit off some fireworks and we were able to catch the West Point Fireworks show from their driveway. We stayed the night there and then Jenny cooked us a fabulous breakfst in the morning! We had a fabulous time!! Thanks again Justin for the BBQ. We have already put it to good use!
Chayse with his cousins, Taylor and Kai
We headed home Saturday morning and came home to get ready for the day. My dad, his girlfriend Jacque and my brother came to visit for a few and leave my brother so he could go to the cruise in with us. We picked up some subs and headed to the Cruise In to meet up with The Reese's and Brandon's brothers and Dad. Thanks again to Brian who saved us some awesome spots! I was a little disappointed in the parade this year. There weren't as many old cars in it, and there was a lot of newer cars who were just using it as advertising. Oh well..it was something else to do right?
My cute friend Shanna and her little princess, Adysen!
(I have to add that Shanna made Alexa's darling 4th of July Bows for both days! She is awesome! If you have a little girl and need some cute, fun, unique custom made bows..let me know!!)
On Sunday my dad and Jacque came back through to get my brother and we had another BBQ. Brandon's parents and brother, Travis came over as well. There was lots of good food and good times! It was a good weekend that left me smiling at the end of it and so thankful for a great family and the fabulous country we have to live in!
