A Different Kind of Valentine's Day Celebration

This past Saturday, we celebrated Valentine's Day differently than we have in the past. This Valentine's Day we celebrated life; the life of a great, noble, hardworking, and honest man.

Brandon's grandfather, Carl DeMill, passed away on February 6th. His funeral was on Saturday, which also happened to be his birthday. It was an emotional day filled with memories, love, gratitude, and tears. We remembered the great man he was and the legacy he has left with family and friends. Gratitude for the beliefs we have that we will be blessed to see Grandpa again. Love poured through the hearts of everyone attending. Tears were falling as he was layed to rest by his sweetheart, Grandma DeMill.

It was amazing, at the viewings and funeral, to see the amount of people who attended. So many people have been touched by him and Grandma and their love was felt by many. Brandon gave an amazing family prayer before the casket was closed. The spirit was there so strong and I could feel Grandpa's presence.I am honored to have known Grandpa. He always told this to all of us married couples and I will forever remember it:

"Now Mada and I never fight. We never have. If we ever disagreed on something, we would talk it out. That is what you need to do. Now, we go to bed everynight holding hands and that has always kept us close."

We love you Grandpa!!!

Pics of Kimber and Jonas

Here are a couple pictures of my sister and Jonas! Stay tuned for a full sneak peek on my sneak peek blog (http://www.leavittphoto.blogspot.com/) after I get back from San Diego!!!

Isn't she absolutely stunning?!?!?

Kimber & Jonas's Visit!

My sister and her little guy Jonas came to Logan last week to see us! I couldn't have been more excited when she told me! Her and I are really close and I havent seen her since September, so needless to say, I was dying to get some sister time in!
When they came on Tuesday we just hung out around the house for a bit, and then my husband watched the kids (Thanks babe!) so that we could go to dinner with some of my girlfriends and a little shopping trip after! I love my friends here so much, and I was excited for her to meet them and for them to meet her!

Wednesday we spent entirely too much time at Kohls, but had a blast shopping around. We went to lunch after that and then hung out at the house again. I got the privilege of photographing my cute little nephew and absolutely gorgeous sister! It was a lot of fun! Jonas hadnt ever really had his pictures done, and it was fun to capture all his cuteness!

The kids had a blast playing with eachother! Jonas taught Alexa how to say "ya" when she wants something, and Chayse loved having another boy to play with! Luckily Jonas and Chayse both LOVE movies and had a ton of fun watching them together! Alexa was just being a crazy diva the whole time! Haha!

Sadly she had to leave the next morning and I seriously hated that she had to go! She is such an amazing sister and is such a strong person who has been through so much and came out on top! She is a fabulous mother and a great example to me! I wish I lived closer! It makes me want to move back to Boise so bad!!! Maybe someday! :)

Alexa's 1st Birthday!

Miss Alexa turned one on Saturday! I CANNOT believe how fast this year has gone by! WOW!!!
She is awesome and we love her tons! I will post later about all that she is up to and her stats, but I had to blog about her party first! It was a blast!!!
Thank you so so so so much Jacque for all your help with decorating and the cupcakes!
BEWARE:
There are a lot of pictures! Oodles and oodles! Some of our family and friends couldn't make this glorious event, and we were sad about that..so they get to relive the party through this post!
Enjoy!
Don't these cupcakes look scrumptious? I would have to say I am rather proud of Jacque and I's skills. They turned out better than we expected!Me with my birthday girl! She wasn't all for posing for the picture obviously! haha!
Chayse and the "One Shoe'd Bandit" birthday girl!

Daddy and his baby girl!

Uncle Travis with Alexa!
I got her this cute little cupcake balloon! Couldn't resist!

She can get anything she wants with this smile!

My mother in law made her this DARLING cupcake dress for her party!
Doesn't she look so cute?
Thank you LaDonna!!!

Oh how we love Lilybeth and all her chubbers!

She knew what was coming.
" I get to make a huge mess and fill myself full of sugar..and NO ONE
will stop me!!"MMMMMMMM!
" What?"~*~
PRESENT TIME!!!
Thanks to everyone who spoiled this little girl rotten! She loved everything she got!
Now she finally has some girly toys to play with!!!

Thanks Great Gramma Helen!!!
I know this picture is a little blurry, but I love it anyway!

Here is the little diva with the purse Grandpa F got her and
the cell phone Jenny R got her!
She loves to carry around her purse but wants it up on her shoulder like Mommy.
She loves to chat on the cell phone as well, in her baby gibberish! (Just like Mommy; minus the baby gibberish part!)

"Don't mess with my new dolly!"
She makes my heart melt!

~*~
What a fun party we had for her! Lots of cake, ice cream presents and the best of all:
friends and family
to share it all with!
Thanks to everyone who came!
We love you all!
We missed those who couldn't make it!
P.S. Thank you to my Dad and his friend Jacque for playing with the kids!
They LOVED it!
You were so good to play hide and go seek and you even helped pick up the tornado of toys that were strewn across the room!
Thank you both so so much!

A little of this..a little of that!

Not much goes on in January..its a hard month to get through! Glad we made it to February! We hung out a lot at home in January, since we had a lot of red air days. Unless we were going to preschool or running necessary errands..we tried to keep ourselves occupied inside. We read books, colored, watched TV (probably more than we should have), and did a lot of dance sessions in our kitchen! Here are just a few pictures of the kids. We are getting a little stir crazy and cant wait for our trip to San Diego in a couple weeks. (Though someone should probably knock me or Alexa out for the plane ride....Im not sure how she will handle it and Im not sure I want to be conscious enough to deal with it! Haha!)
I was on the computer one night and Brandon was watching TV. He asks me if Chayse is by me and I said no and we were wondering where the heck he was. Well he fell asleep in Alexa's carseat. It was quite funny.
This is Alexa's favorite place to sit downstairs. She sits right in the corner of where the couch and loveseat meet. She will sit and pretend to draw, read or just watch her crazy brother. She is very tired in this picture and sat down to take a break!
Brandon and Chayse decided to play football in the house. It was just a stuffed football but Chayse definitely got a kick out of it!Alexa has some crazy hair when she wakes up! It cracks Chayse up!

Chayse thought it would be fun to take pictures of them making silly faces. Oh the things we find interesting to do when the weather is crappy and the kids are bored!

~*~

Alexa is turning ONE on Saturday! I am still in disbelief and denial. I refused to pack away her burp cloths when I was going through the clothes that didn't fit her anymore. I got sad when I found some infant gas drops and realized she has grown out of the need to use those. She soon will be forward facing in her carseat so I can see her cute little grin, and that I am excited about!!

Stay tuned next week for a post on her birthday party!
