laughing baby

I had to post another blog..because I find this video pretty darn hilarious!

My name is...

Just had to share a cute little thing that Chayse does now. When you ask him his name, he says, "Chayse" with the cutest little lisp on last part of his name! Its so cute that its all coming together and he completely understands what you are asking him. Its fun when they realize what their name is, and they respond when you call their name, and its even cooler when they can say it themselves! :)

So, as you know Brandon and I are trying for another baby. I would love love love to have a girl, but if I do end up having a boy that is just fine too. I have heard there are old wive's tales about being able to "choose" the sex of your child. Here are a few that I find quite interesting/hilarious:

Your child is what you eat
According to folk wisdom, what you put in your body before conceiving may affect what comes out nine months later.
If you want a boy...

*Eat more meat — the redder the better.
*Stick with salty snacks such as pretzels and chips.
*Dads-to-be: Stock up on soda, especially cola drinks.

If you want a girl...

*Both partners should eat lots of fish and veggies.
*Give in to your chocolate craving, or just eat sweets in general.

If you want a boy...

*Make love when there's a quartermoon in the sky.
*Have sex at night.
*Mark your calendar — more boys are conceived on odd days of the month.
*Follow the compass — one of our users swears that pointing the woman's head north while you
make love guarantees a boy.

If you want a girl...

*Do the baby dance when the moon is full.
*Make a date for love in the afternoon.
*Get together on the even days of the month.

Keeping your cool
And we mean both literally and figuratively. According to some stories, being relaxed when you conceive means you'll have a girl. If you're a worrywart, a son's in your future. But the actual temperature may play a role too. Some say a man's testicles should be cool before you have sex if you want a daughter; for a son, warm them up. That idea plays into the common belief about boxers versus briefs — go for the tighty-whities if you want a boy, but hang loose if you're aching for a girl. (FYI, research does suggest that boxers are best for baby-making in general.)

Just plain way out there...
Some sexselection folklore defies categorization. For instance, some say that if the hairline at the base of your last child's neck is a ducktail, your next baby will be a girl. If it's straight across, prepare for a boy. Another story says that the baby's sex is determined by which partner is dominant in the relationship at the time of conception.

Am I crazy if I error on the side of caution in hopes of having a girl? Haha..K even I am not that gullible to believe this!

Happy Mother's Day!

Being that today is Mother's Day, I just wa
nted to write a little blog on the appreciation I have for being a mother! It is the greatest experience ever! It's like I have my lump of clay, and I can mold it into a beautiful and wonderful creation! At least we all hope so right! At times it can be nerve racking because they say the first seven years of their lives is the learning point and where all the deep seeded truth can be planted. You hope and pray you do all the right things so that they will grow up to be a great and successful person! I love Chayse with all my heart and feel so lucky to have such a great son with my wonderful husband! Everday Chayse says something new, or does something crazy to make me laugh hysterically. I am excited to have more and start the experience of motherhood over again with another little angel from heaven! All in all..I feel very blessed to be a mom and want to give a shout out to all those moms out there who succeed every day in raising their kids in this crazy world!

teach me to cook

So, I spent the weekend with my sister and my brother in law and my new nephew! Had a blast! One thing I love when I am with them is that they are GREAT cooks! Adam is great with the bbq and his steaks make my mouth water. Kimber having worked at a few restraunts has all these fun little side dishes to try out. Well except one..goat cheese with sunflower seeds..the idea is good...the taste is not. For me anyway. Anyway...I realized that I really want to learn how to cook better! I have recently become obsessed with watching Rachel Ray and am start to watch the FOOD network here and there. My friend Tegan is a great cook as well and has given me some really great recipes! I am not a bad cook by any means..I just need to diversify! Though tonight I made some really good steaks and sauted veggies! I was pretty proud of myself! Haha. If anyone has any great recipes...send them my way..cuz I am sure my husband would love something other than spaghetti or chicken or pasta salad all the time! :)

Lovin the warm weather!

Today was such a beautiful day! The temp was just right with the perfect breeze! I had a great day hanging out with my husband and son, and cant wait for another day of relaxation tomorrow. I look forward to the weekends when we can just relax and be together as a family. The nice weather was definately welcomed by Chayse who just loves loves loves to be outside and chasing the ducks and watching the soccer game. I cherish these times with my little family and feel so blessed to be where I am at in life. Kinda makes the little issues in life seem irrelevant, when I can look at my family and know that I am loved and I have great people to love! Dang..this warm weather makes me all sentimental and crap! Haha :)

Nanny Diaries

So at the beginning of April I started nannying for a beautiful baby boy named Dylan who is 4 months old! Chayse gets to come with me, which is great because I can make money but still be a full time mommy to him. Chayse is so sweet with baby Dylan and just loves to snuggle up to him! Its fun to nanny, but definately a lot of work and can be tiring at times! Its definately giving me practice for another one though! :)

Chayse Chayse Chayse

Here are a few updated pictures of Chayser man! He is 19 months, 30 lbs, 33 1/4 in tall and eats and eats and eats! :) He is such a joy in our lives, though he is starting his terrible two's early..sometimes I think we should be done having kids! Haha. He loves to be outside and watch the soccer games in the park behind us, he loves to have books read to him, to draw and color and ofcourse he loves to eat! He luckily isnt a picky eater in the sense that he will eat most anything, but he is pretty picky when it comes to how it is served to him! :) Anyway, here are a few new pics of my little guy!

here's to another one...

Well its been awhile since I posted a blog, so I thought it was time! Brandon and I decided to start trying for another baby in June! We are so excited to add another little addition to our family! Chayse does so well with babies, and even though he cant say it, I am sure he will be excited as well! I will keep you posted as to when we do get pregnant!

What to do..What to do...

Brandon and I are both trying to decide the next steps as far as our job goes. Brandon was offered a supervisor position at Impact Cash Services, but was also offered a job with Convergys to work from home. He cant decide between both the jobs. They both have pros and cons. The supervisor job: He would be able to be in charge of a group of people, great incentives, looks great on resume, good hours, he would have all weekends off and he wouldn't have to be on the phones as much. The Convergys job is great because it offers benefits, PTO hours, he will be able to work from home which would be great because he woud be able to do his schoolwork as well. The hours are a little crazy at first with convergys and he may have to work some weekends after his training.

I am trying to decide what is the best route for a nanny job. I have two options. One family has 3 kids, but I would only have one of them for most of the time, til summer came around and then Iwould have all three, so four including Chayse! I would only be working 3 times a week though and she is a little more flexible if I need to go out of town and what not. The other option is for a 3 month old little baby who is so darling. Its full time and she cant be as flexible because she doesnt have ANY family around here. I really like that I would only have one though. Decisions, decisions, decisions. I guess if I went with the family of 3 kids, it would be great birth control! :)

Any suggestions?
