First Doc Appt!
I am 10 wks along and had my first doc appt today! Brandon and Chayse went with, though Chayse was too interested in figuring out how to get OUT of the room, rather than stay in and see the baby on the screen. I am sure he will get more attentive as time goes on and he realizes more whats going on! Little Baby Leavitt looks great and had a whopping heartbeat of 186! (Maybe it had something to do with the two sips of Diet Coke I had before I went in!) My next appt in Aug 22 and I look forward to getting to check in the with doc again just to make sure the baby is doing great. Since I have had two premature babies, they are keeping a close watch on me and want me to keep strict on seeing the doc every 4 wks. Because of the fact that I started my appts when I was 10 wks...my next appt is when I am 14 wks and the next is at 18 wks. Usually you would just wait until 20 wks so you can see the doc and the ultrasound tech at the same time to find out the sex and get your monthly check up. But they didnt want me to wait 6 wks..so I luckily get to find out what we are having two weeks earlier than I had expected! Who knows if that made any sense..but in my head it does! Anyway, something is weird with my scanner so I wasn't able to show the cute lil peanut's picture..but I attached a 4D picture of what a 10 week old fetus looks like! Too fun! :)

Chayse @ The Cruise In
Every July, Cache Valley has an even called "The Cruise In" and on Saturday night they have a parade of all these old, refinished cars. It is pretty entertaining and fun to see all the different cars, and of course some really snazzy new ones sneak their way in! This year we sat right by a band that was playing and Chayse really enjoyed listening to their music and dancing to it!

Chayse is the king of funny faces! I am not quite sure what caused this one! He is such a goof!~

Chayse got a new camping chair for our July Camping Trip, but we decided to give it a try at the parade and Chayse loved his puppy dog chair! He looks so comfy! (Thanks for the idea Tegan!)
We had a lot of fun at the parade this year and look forward to next year! We are hoping my dad will bring his 1956 Willeys that him and my brother re-did!

Baby Toys!
My sister showed me a really cute site for baby toys that I just love! They are soft and furry and so cute in a simple way! Most of the toys are in soft subtle colors and just perfect for a newborn to snuggle up to! I am definately going to by our new lil baby a few of these toys, once I can get myself to actually buy something. I feel like I am jinxing myself if I buy something before the first tri is over!

Happy Father's Day!
Here's to a great father! Brandon is such a great dad! Chayse loves him so much and really looks up to him! Brandon is a great example of what a man and father should be and I hope that
Chayse picks that up and carries it on to when he has a family of his own! I love Brandon dearly and am so excited for him to be a daddy again, to our lil bun in the oven!
Also to my dad! He has been so great to me, and a great example as well! He was dad, mom, friend and confidant..and still is! What a great blessing he is to me in my life and the life of my family! We truely are thankful for all he does for us and how he is always there!
Brandon's father is a great guy as well, and is always there to help if we need it! Chayse loves his "Papa" and looks forward to the bike rides and walks with him!We are very thankful to have such great Father figures in our lives! We honor them today and hope they know how much they are loved!

As I Lay Me Down to Sleep...
I wanted to share the a sweet little experience I had with Chayse last night. I was getting Chayse down to sleep and gave him a goodnight kiss and he looks at me and says "paya" (prayer). Then he called for his dad to come join us. Then he folded his arms and closed his eyes, ready for prayer. It was so darling and sweet, that Chayse remembered before I, to pray before he went to sleep. What a humbling experience it was to see how close our little ones are to Heavenly Father! I am so thankful for the great example little Chayse can be to Brandon and I.

My name is...
Just had to share a cute little thing that Chayse does now. When you ask him his name, he says, "Chayse" with the cutest little lisp on last part of his name! Its so cute that its all coming together and he completely understands what you are asking him. Its fun when they realize what their name is, and they respond when you call their name, and its even cooler when they can say it themselves! :)

So, as you know Brandon and I are trying for another baby. I would love love love to have a girl, but if I do end up having a boy that is just fine too. I have heard there are old wive's tales about being able to "choose" the sex of your child. Here are a few that I find quite interesting/hilarious:
Your child is what you eat
According to folk wisdom, what you put in your body before conceiving may affect what comes out nine months later.
If you want a boy...
*Eat more meat — the redder the better.
*Stick with salty snacks such as pretzels and chips.
*Dads-to-be: Stock up on soda, especially cola drinks.
If you want a girl...
*Both partners should eat lots of fish and veggies.
*Give in to your chocolate craving, or just eat sweets in general.
If you want a boy...
*Make love when there's a quartermoon in the sky.
*Have sex at night.
*Mark your calendar — more boys are conceived on odd days of the month.
*Follow the compass — one of our users swears that pointing the woman's head north while you
make love guarantees a boy.
If you want a girl...
*Do the baby dance when the moon is full.
*Make a date for love in the afternoon.
*Get together on the even days of the month.
Keeping your cool
And we mean both literally and figuratively. According to some stories, being relaxed when you conceive means you'll have a girl. If you're a worrywart, a son's in your future. But the actual temperature may play a role too. Some say a man's testicles should be cool before you have sex if you want a daughter; for a son, warm them up. That idea plays into the common belief about boxers versus briefs — go for the tighty-whities if you want a boy, but hang loose if you're aching for a girl. (FYI, research does suggest that boxers are best for baby-making in general.)
Just plain way out there...
Some sexselection folklore defies categorization. For instance, some say that if the hairline at the base of your last child's neck is a ducktail, your next baby will be a girl. If it's straight across, prepare for a boy. Another story says that the baby's sex is determined by which partner is dominant in the relationship at the time of conception.
Am I crazy if I error on the side of caution in hopes of having a girl? Haha..K even I am not that gullible to believe this!
